"We are determined to change the face of Borno and rewrite its history so that our people can go back to their communities for us to restore their dignity.
Though we are poor, we still carry our poverty with dignity. He will never allow our people to descend to sub-human level and we are going rebuild Borno brick by brick In Sha Allah. We are going to working assiduously to rekindle hope in our people. We are going to invest in education, in job creation, in infrastructural development, in gender empowerment, in girl child education and we will invest in strengthening primary health care system. We got $1million donation from General Electric of the United States and we said they should give the money to UNICEF and they gave the money to them and I am glad to inform you that we have taken possession of a substantial quantity of hospital equipments enough to equip 60 primary healthcare centres in the state. We also got grant of $1.5 million for 'Safe Life Initiative' of the World Bank. This is a grant given to all states of the Federation and further inflow of these funds is a function of judicious utilization of what has been given to us now. We are traveling to China and India to procure as many as possible equipment to reposition our healthcare delivery system. We have bought equipment worth N1.06 Billion and it is gratifying to know that some of these equipment have started coming. Among them are x-Ray machines, scanners, 1000 hospital beds, industrial washing machines for our hospitals, proper uniforms for Nurses and theatre workers and other vital hospital equipment"he said

Borno government procures N1.06 Billion Hospital Equipment
Borno state Governor, Kashim Shettima has said that his administration has procured hospital equipment worth N1.06 Billion to improve healthcare delivery system in the state. The Governor disclosed this during a traditional Sallah courtesy visit by the Shehu of Borno, Dr. Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi to the Maiduguri government house.
