A graduate of Political Science, Jehu Kwasu, has narrated how he impersonated the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Matthew Kukah and defrauded prominent Nigerians of millions of naira.

Kwasu said his victims included Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church Worldwide, who he claimed gave him N500,000; the Chairman, Honeywell Group, Oba Otudeko, N1m; Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu, N500,000; businessman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, N2m.

He allegedly collected the sums for Internally Displaced Persons.

He said, “I collected N500,000 from Otudeko, CEO, Honeywell: From Admiral Kanu, I got N500,000. I also got N500,000 from Bishop Oyedepo and N2m from Dantata. I also got money from Gen. Wushishi and others.

“I opened a Guaranty Trust Bank account in Bishop Kukah’s name. I registered a SIM card in my name, but used Bishop Kukah’s picture on my True Caller account, so that when I call, his picture would appear (on the recipient’s phone.)”

EFCC Traces 3 Properties In Lekki, 1 In Bayelsa To Jonathan’s Ex-Aide, Dudafa

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has traced properties worth N1.5bn to a former Special Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Domestic Affairs, Waripamowei Dudafa.

It was learnt on Sunday that as part of investigations into an alleged case of money laundering, the EFCC discovered some properties, which Dudafa had not been able to explain where he got the money to buy them.

The commission discovered a mansion in the Agungi area of the Lekki-Epe Expressway, allegedly belonging to Dudafa, said to be worth over N300m.

The anti-graft agency also traced a plot of land around the Chevron Estate, off the Lekki-Epe Expressway and a twin duplex within the same area said to belong to Dudafa.

Godwin Obaseki, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming Edo State Governorship election, has said he is not longing to get into power for personal reasons, but to serve humanity.

Obaseki made the statement yesterday at the birthday ceremony of the Senior Pastor of Royal World Ministry, Benin, Pastor Rex Omosefe. He said;

“This is the primary reason I am in the race to be governor today –  to use everything that God has given me: my time, creativity, vast network and energy, to improve the lives of our people and to better our state.

“I am offering myself not for personal gains – because I have been richly blessed by God – but out of a deep sense of duty to God and a genuine desire to serve the people of Edo State.”
It will be recalled that Obaseki had been accused of longing to get into power for his personal interest.

Explosion Occurs At New Jersey Train Station

An explosion has taken place at a New Jersey train station while authorities are at the scene investigating reports of a suspicious package.

The station, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, was evacuated alongside businesses in the surrounding area. One eyewitness described the blast as "thunderous", but there have been no injuries.

A bomb squad robot was at the scene when the blast took place, however authorities have confirmed that it was not a controlled explosion.

Chris Bollwage, the Mayor of Elizabeth, confirmed that the suspicious package contained "an explosive device" and "could have hurt a lot of people". The device is understood to have been found in a bin at the station.

The incident comes as FBI agents are questioning five people over the explosion that injured 29 people in New York at the weekend.
